Exploratory Trip to Aurora

On Sept. 11, 2017, a group of local aviation and education stakeholders took a chartered flight to Aurora State Airport, which is located about midway between Salem and Portland. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about a Portland Community College-sponsored program called Airway Science for Kids and to establish contacts at the Aurora airport (the home of Van’s Aircraft, where kits will be purchased to facilitate Rogue Valley-area high school plane building programs). Meetings were: 10:00 am Van’s Aircraft; 11:00 am Westwood Development Corporation; 1:00 pm Portland Community College; 2:30 pm Airway Science for Kids; 4:00 pm Departure from Aurora.
